DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICES FOR THE FIRST LEVEL OF EDUCATION – BACHELOR’S DEGREE
1-2 course – Computational practice
The purpose of the computational practice is:
- training specialists in the development of desktop applications of varying complexity using the .NET platform, the C# programming language, and ADO.NET + Dapper data access technology;
- developing students’ skills in conducting independent research work, familiarising students with techniques and procedures for solving practical problems and consolidating the theoretical knowledge acquired at university while studying educational components.
The main objectives of the computing practice are to provide students with a theoretical and practical foundation in modern approaches and methods for developing various types of desktop applications of varying complexity on the .NET platform in terms of the most relevant enterprise architectures and version control systems for the market.
3rd year – Design and technology internship
The aim of the design and technology internship is to study the production activities of the internship base enterprise, technologies in the field of programming and software development, consolidate the skills and knowledge acquired in practical and theoretical classes, gain experience working in a team, and familiarise oneself with the activities of an IT company in market conditions.
The objectives of the design and technological internship are to study the organisational structure of the enterprise; study the technological processes carried out in the enterprise’s departments; familiarise oneself with the scientific organisation and working conditions of a software engineer in the enterprise’s structural units; study issues of safety and labour protection in the workplace; acquiring skills in organisational and educational activities within a team; familiarising oneself with the activities of the enterprise’s marketing department.
4th year – Pre-graduation internship
The purpose of the pre-diploma internship is to prepare students for their final qualification work and to develop their skills and practical abilities to independently perform professional tasks.
The main task of the pre-diploma internship is to perform various types of work related to real professional activities under the supervision of a department supervisor. In addition, the tasks of the pre-diploma internship include in-depth study of the thesis topic, collection of materials, their testing and preparation for writing the thesis.
Documentation of practices for the first level of education – bachelor’s degree
DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICES FOR THE SECOND LEVEL OF EDUCATION – MASTER’S DEGREE
6th year – Professional internship
Professional internship is the final stage of master’s degree studies and is conducted after the acquisition of all necessary competencies for the second (master’s) level of higher education. It is an integral part of the curriculum for training specialists in the field of Computer Science.
During the professional internship, students search for and organise information on the topic of their final qualification work, create a theoretical and experimental base, perform individual tasks at IT-profile enterprises to ensure high-quality assimilation of the acquired competencies and completion of their final qualification work and its defence.
The purpose of professional internship is to study the activities of the internship base enterprise, to form and improve professional competencies in the field of software development, analysis, testing, implementation and support through the practical application of knowledge in real or simulated situations, analysis of customer needs and the need for new approaches to solve the tasks set.
The main objectives of the educational component are:
– studying the organisational structure of the enterprise – the internship base;
– reviewing the technological processes carried out in individual departments of the enterprise;
– familiarising oneself with the scientific and organisational work and working conditions of employees in the structural units of the enterprise;
– analysing and formalising software requirements;
– planning a software application development project;
– implementing a software product;
– identifying and eliminating software malfunctions.
6th year – Research internship on the topic of the qualification thesis
Research work (RW) on the topic of the qualification work is the final stage of training for masters and is carried out after the acquisition of all the necessary competencies for the second (master’s) level of higher education, which is an integral part of the curriculum for training specialists in the specialty ‘Computer Science’.
The aim of the research work on the thesis is to develop and improve professional and research competencies in the field of computer science by conducting research aimed at the development, analysis and implementation of innovative information and computer systems, in particular intelligent data analysis systems. The research work involves the systematisation of theoretical foundations, the formalisation of subject areas, the application of mathematical methods and algorithms, the development of software, the management of the life cycle of artificial intelligence systems, and the presentation of research results using modern approaches to data analysis and communications for different audiences.
The main tasks of the research work on the thesis are:
– to define the subject area of the project, build an information model, taking into account the specifics of the tasks;
– to study modern scientific achievements and trends in the field of computer science related to the research topic;
– create a new algorithm or optimise an existing one, develop the architecture of an information system to solve the task at hand;
– develop software or a prototype of the system, taking into account the requirements and limitations;
– conduct empirical testing of the prototype, evaluate its quality according to international standards or maturity models, analyse the results;
– ensure the integration of the developed solution into the production environment model, in particular, if possible, apply CRISP-ML and MLOps principles to manage the system lifecycle;
– collect, analyse and publish the results obtained during the individual task, prepare visualisations for the presentation of results.
