Academic mobility in action: students from the Department of Computer Science exchanged experiences at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv

From 24 to 28 November 2025, students of the Department of Computer Science at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Maria Ilnytska and Iryna Derevoriz, participated in the internal academic mobility programme ‘Platsart’. As part of the project, they visited Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The week-long trip, focused on computer science, was intense and productive. The main goal of the visit was to exchange experiences and learn about the educational process at one of the country’s leading universities.

During the week, our students attended lectures and practical classes together with LNU students. This allowed them not only to gain new knowledge, but also to compare educational programmes, teaching methods and approaches to presenting material at both higher education institutions.

In addition to training, the programme included active communication with the university community. The participants were given a tour of the main building and introduced to the history of LNU. An important part of the visit was a meeting with representatives of the student parliament, where student projects, self-government and the peculiarities of student life in Lviv were discussed.

The cultural component of the trip was also impressive: the students attended traditional evening gatherings, visited Lviv’s famous churches and climbed to the observation deck of the city hall to enjoy the panoramic view of the city.

The participants of the programme express their sincere gratitude to the organisers — the Ukrainian Student League (USL) — as well as the administrations of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University for this opportunity. Participation in such projects contributes to the expansion of professional horizons.
