Student self-government bodies, whose main purpose is to represent the interests and protect the rights of students, are represented by three branches at ChNU:

student parliament;
student union;
student council.

There is also a Culture and Leisure Centre at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, where students can develop their artistic talents.

In order to maintain the psychological well-being of students and teaching staff, the university has a Social and Psychological Centre.

The activities of student self-government bodies are regulated by the Regulations on Student Self-Government Bodies of Yuri Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Student Parliament

The Student Parliament is the executive body of student self-government, which is elected at student conferences and reflects the position of young people in various areas of educational activity at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. It coordinates the work of all student self-government bodies and and actively participates in the organisation and conduct of various events designed to comprehensively promote the educational, scientific, social, sporting and creative activities of students.

The focus of the work is on coordinating student self-government, which involves creating conditions for young people to realise their potential in the interests of the individual, society and the state.

In other words, this body is designed to create all the conditions necessary to ensure that the lives of modern students at ChNU are interesting, exciting and productive.

Student Council

The Student Council is a student self-government body that operates on the campus in accordance with the regulations on student self-government bodies at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Student councils operate in each structural unit of the university (institutes, faculties and colleges). The chair of the Student Council is elected by direct secret ballot by the students of their structural unit who live in the dormitory for a one-year term (note: one person can be the chair of the Student Council for no more than two terms, i.e. two years).

If necessary, the chair of the Student Council may appoint deputies or a floor representative for the floor where students of the relevant faculty live.

The main tasks of the Student Council are:

ensure effective interaction and cooperation between students living in the dormitory, the administration of the campus and the technical staff of the dormitory;
provide students with relevant information regarding the dormitory in general, living in it, or the organisation of accommodation;
interact with the Student Parliament and the student union of the relevant structural unit of Chernivtsi National University, if necessary;
facilitate the fastest possible resolution of various problems encountered by students: conflicts, violations of safety rules, breakdowns of service equipment, respectively, if the problem is directly within the competence of the chair of the Student Council or members of the Student Council (deputies and floor leaders).
