On 18–19 December 2025, Chernivtsi National University named after Yurii Fedkovych hosted a landmark scientific event — the International Scientific Workshop ‘Applied Information Technologies and AI Systems’ (AITAIS). The event brought together leading scientists, researchers and practitioners from Ukraine and abroad.
An important feature of this year’s event was that it was organised and held under the auspices of the International Centre for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (ICCSAI) Scientific Centre. This centre is a key platform for Chernivtsi National University to coordinate international research, promoting the development of advanced digital technologies and the integration of Ukrainian science into the global arena.
The workshop was conducted in English in a mixed format (offline and online). The main goal of the event was to exchange scientific and practical experience in the field of applied information technologies, computational intelligence and modern computer systems. AITAIS has become an important platform for establishing international scientific cooperation and integrating young researchers into the global scientific community.
The workshop discussed the latest achievements and current challenges in the most advanced areas of IT. The programme covered the following topics:
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning: new methods and algorithms.
- Big Data processing: analysis and management of information arrays.
- Cybersecurity: protection of systems in the context of digitalisation.
- Internet of Things (IoT): development of intelligent interconnected systems.
The participants paid particular attention to the ethical aspects of using intelligent systems, as well as the practical implementation of modern IT and AI solutions in various areas of public life and business.
The high scientific level of the event was ensured by the Programme Committee, which brought together more than 30 renowned scientists in the field of computer science from different countries around the world.
During the event, 25 scientific reports based on in-depth articles were presented. Fourteen of these were presented by foreign participants, which clearly demonstrates the high level of international interest in the event and the authority of Chernivtsi National University on the world stage.
When preparing their materials, the authors strictly adhered to the requirements of the international scientific publisher CEUR-WS.org. This ensures that publications comply with modern standards of scientific communication and are accessible to the global scientific community.
The successful holding of the International Scientific Workshop ‘Applied Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence Systems’ once again confirmed the active role of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University as an important scientific centre. The university remains open to international cooperation, innovation development and training of specialists capable of solving the most complex challenges of the modern era of artificial intelligence.
