AIT&AIS Workshop
AIT&AIS Workshop is an integral part of ICCSAI’s activities, as it reflects its strategic focus on international scientific integration and the professional development of information technology specialists. Holding the workshop under the Center’s auspices reinforces its role as a platform for scientific dialogue and collaboration between the university and the global academic community.
On December 18–19, 2025, the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University hosted the International Scientific Workshop “Applied Information Technologies and AI Systems” (AITAIS). The event brought together leading scientists, researchers, and practitioners from Ukraine and abroad.
The event was organized and held under the auspices of the Scientific Center “International Center for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence” (ICCSAI). This center is a key platform of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University for coordinating international research, promoting the development of advanced digital technologies and the integration of Ukrainian science into the global space.
The workshop was conducted in English in a hybrid format (offline and online). The main goal of the event was to exchange scientific and practical experience in the fields of applied information technologies, computational intelligence, and modern computer systems. AITAIS has become an important platform for establishing international scientific cooperation and integrating young researchers into the global scientific community.


The workshop discussed the latest achievements and current challenges in the most advanced IT fields. The program covered the following areas:
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: new methods and algorithms.
- Big Data: analysis and management of information arrays.
- Cybersecurity: system protection in the context of digitalization.
- Internet of Things (IoT): development of intelligent interconnected systems.
Participants paid special attention to the ethical aspects of using intelligent systems, as well as the practical implementation of modern IT and AI solutions in various areas of public life and business.
The high scientific level of the event was ensured by the Program Committee, which brought together over 30 renowned computer science scholars from around the world. During the event, 25 scientific reports based on comprehensive articles were presented. Among them, 14 works were presented by international participants, clearly highlighting the high level of global interest in the event and the prestige of Chernivtsi National University on the world stage.

The International Center for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (ICCSAI) is the organizer of a Startup competition for the Malanka Festival as part of the Rotary IT Business Forum
On January 16, 2026, in Chernivtsi, the Rotary IT Business Forum was held at the “International Center for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence” of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. The forum was dedicated to the practical application of artificial intelligence and an IT startup competition for young people under 30. The event brought together Rotarians, IT specialists, startup communities, and international partners to focus on the practical use of AI in business, management, law, communications, and social projects.
During the online webinar, participants were welcomed by representatives of the Rotary Means Business Fellowship from the USA and India, as well as the chairs of the relevant District 2232 committees. District 2232 Governor Olga Paliychuk (DG 2025/26), together with co-organizer Heorhiy Zvirid (Rotary Club Chernivtsi), announced the results of the first stage of the competition, the subsequent mentoring program, and the second stage involving Rotarians from the USA with the possibility of financial support for the best projects.
The key practical component of the forum was the IT startup competition involving youth, academic, and business teams in the field of AI and digital services.
The competition was held in two rounds in English. The first round was evaluated by Oleh Kosmyna (Rotary Club “Lviv-RATUSHA”), Dan Zaharia (Past President at Rotary IASI Curtea Domneasca, Founder at Fab Lab Iasi, Co-founder at Digital Stack, Studies at Facultatea de Informatica, Universitatea “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”, Iasi), Olga Paliychuk, Volodymyr Starosta (Assistant Governor, serial entrepreneur), and Heorhiy Zvirid (Past President of Rotary Chernivtsi, startup competition coordinator, Saga Soft LLC). The event was moderated by Prof. Yuriy Ushenko, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Director of the “International Center for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.”
Four projects (DogMate, MoodFlow, Polyglot, and Secret Garden) were selected for the second round, which were evaluated and reviewed by Pete Bosch (Rotary District 6270 Immediate Past District Governor, Expert simulation and modeling engineer, USA). The competition results are as follows: 1st place was taken by the DogMate team, 2nd place – MoodFlow mood tracker team, 3rd place – Polyglot and Secret Garden teams.
The forum confirmed that the synergy of Rotary, technology, entrepreneurship, and the academic community opens new opportunities for the development of youth, communities, and international professional service.
